Use it in ChatGPT and Claude
The 3Dstudio.co AI Render connector lets ChatGPT and Claude make a photorealistic render from a screenshot of your 3D model, change it, relight it and list the renders you made in the studio. Renders use your normal credits, the same as in the studio. You need a 3Dstudio.co account. Free accounts work and have a lower hourly limit.
The connector address
https://app.3dstudio.co/api/mcpIt is a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). Sign-in is OAuth: you sign in to your 3Dstudio.co account and choose Allow. No API key is needed.
Set up in Claude (claude.ai)
- Open Settings and choose Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the address above.
- Sign in to your 3Dstudio.co account when asked.
- Choose Allow, then start a new chat and ask for a render.
Shortcut: open the add-connector dialog with the address filled in.
In Claude Code, you can add the server with an API key from a paid account (see API):

Set up in ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps and Connectors, then Advanced.
- Turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create, paste the address above and pick OAuth as the sign-in method.
- Sign in to your 3Dstudio.co account and allow the connection.
The menu names in ChatGPT and Claude change from time to time. If a name differs, look for the connectors or apps section of the settings.
Attaching a screenshot
- ChatGPT: attach the screenshot to your message and ask for a render. ChatGPT passes the attached picture to the connector.
- Claude: ask for a render. Claude cannot hand an attached picture to the connector, so it gives you an upload link (valid for 15 minutes). Open the link, drop the screenshot there, then go back to the chat and tell Claude it is done. Claude then makes the render.
- Any chat: you can also send a public https link to the screenshot (JPG, PNG or WebP, under 10 MB).

The connector offers these 8 tools. Your assistant chooses them for you. Credits shown are what the tool spends on the account.

There are 19 looks. Standard is 5 credits and HD is 10 credits for a render. See Plans and credits for the full list, and pricing for live prices.
Limits
- Renders, changes and relights: 20 an hour per paid account and 5 an hour per free account that never paid. Reading tools (list_looks, get_credits, list_renders, get_render) are not counted.
- One request can start at most one render.
- Pictures: JPG, PNG or WebP, under 10 MB. A picture sent as base64 must be small (about 3 MB); use a link or the upload link for larger ones.
- Image links must be public https links.
- Upload links are valid for 15 minutes. An uploaded picture can be used for one render within 2 hours.
- A render takes 20 to 120 seconds, a change or relight 20 to 90 seconds.
- A render, change or relight that fails is refunded.
Troubleshooting
The assistant says it has no picture
In Claude, ask it to call start_upload, open the link it gives you and drop the screenshot there. In ChatGPT, attach the picture to the same message that asks for the render. Otherwise send a public https link.
The upload link says it expired
Upload links last 15 minutes and work once. Ask for a new one.
You are out of credits
Buy a credit pack or a plan on the pricing page. Credits never expire.
You reached the hourly limit
Wait a little while and ask again. The limit is 20 an hour for paid accounts and 5 for free accounts.
The connector shows as signed out
Remove the connector and add it again with the address above, then sign in and choose Allow.
The picture is not accepted
Use a JPG, PNG or WebP file under 10 MB. If you sent a link, open it in a private window to check that it works without signing in.
A relight was refunded
The new light would have moved the building, so the result was discarded and the credits were returned. Try another preset.

Disconnect
Remove the connector in Claude (Settings, Connectors) or ChatGPT (Settings, Apps and Connectors). The server supports token revocation at /oauth/revoke, which closes a connection. Access tokens last 1 hour and refresh tokens 30 days. If you want a connection closed and cannot do it from the assistant, write to hello@3dstudio.co.
API keys are separate: revoke them at app.3dstudio.co/account/api.
What the connector can do
When you choose Allow, the assistant can start renders and changes on your account and see your list of renders. Each one uses credits from your balance. The screenshot and the render are stored in your account, and the picture is processed by fal.ai to make the render. Details: Privacy and data.
