From a model screenshot to a client-ready render
Take one screenshot of your model, pick a light and get a photoreal render you can show a client.
- Take a screenshot of your model. Set the view you want in the final picture in SketchUp, Revit, Archicad or Rhino. A plain white or shaded model works best. The steps for each program are under How to take the screenshot in the studio.
Good to know
Quick costs 5 credits and Client ready costs 10 credits. A new account's first render runs in HD at the Quick price.
Try it yourself
Follow along with a sample model
Opens the studio with a sample model loaded. Rendering it costs what a render normally costs.
Questions
What should my screenshot look like?
A plain white or shaded model works best, because the light and the materials come from the look you pick. Turn off shadows and textures you do not want in the picture. A sketch, a plan view or an existing render also works.
Will the render match my model exactly?
It aims to keep your building's shape, camera and proportions, but it is not pixel locked, and fine detail such as window mullions can drop out. Always drag the line and check it against your screenshot.
What if the render fails?
Your credits come back. Try again, or use a clearer screenshot.
Is the first render really free?
A new account gets free renders and free fixes, with no card. Free renders carry a small 3Dstudio.co logo and are for personal use. Any purchase, even a small credit pack, allows client work and takes the logo off later renders.
